Healthy Lawn Tips

  • Only cut 1/3 of the grass blade when mowing the lawn

  • Grass shorter than 3" tall can be more susceptible to heat damage and invasive weeds

  • Healthy Lawns need 1/2" to 1" of water per week

  • Sharpen the blades on your mower after every other cutting...this will help to not hurt the grass blade and help to improve the color of the grass

  • Seeding of lawns that have bare spots should only be done in the spring and fall....seeding in the summer will expose the young grass to high heat temperatures and may kill the seedlings after they sprout

  • Do not cut the grass when it is wet...this can cause the clippings of grass to clump up and cause brown spots in the lawn

  • Proper Fertilization combined with correct weed control products and good watering practices will help to maintain a healthy, thick lawn...
