Vole Removal (Yard or Lawn Mice) Lines in Yard

Vole

  • Strictly Herbivore....meaning only eats plant matter like roots, grasses, flowers, bulbs, grains, etc
  • Although mouse like in appearance, the vole will hardly ever be found inside a structure such as a house or garage
  • Will live inside a mole's tunnel at times

Vole Damage

  • Tunneling throughout a lawn from its den (hole) to a food source such as a flower bed, bird feeding area, etc
  • Tunnels are usually found on top of surface but below the grass like pictures to the right...they like thick grassy areas as it will hide their passage ways
  • Holes are about half dollar size and there can be up to 3-5 voles per hole....populations of 15-20 not uncommon in a small area (they also multiply like mice)
  • Voles will often times take over old mole tunnels and live underground as well as above....one way to know if it is voles or moles is that a mole will always re-seal an open hole...a vole will not

Vole Control

  • In Smaller lawns up to an acre in size Trapping is the most Cost Effective Method of Control-We Charge a Flat Rate
  • Much larger areas poison may be more effective but any time poison is used. one must consider the secondary poisoning that may take place (secondary poisoning is when a bird of prey or other predator eats a poisoned dead vole and doing so they ingest the poison as well)  Also any such poison must have Voles on its label in order to be legal to use
  • (TRapper's Wildlife Control does not use ANY Poison or Chemical to resolve any wildlife issue)
